Sunny days with cool temperatures. Plants are recovering from the extreme heat.Cloudy mornings and sunny during the day. Overnight temperatures are ranging between 12 to 15 degrees and daily temperatures are ranging between 18 to 28 degrees.
nullAt present the quantities harvested are at the lowest numbers for the 2014 season and the quality has been sub-standard. The cooler weather conditions we are experiencing are helping the plantations. The greenhouses and semi-hydroponic houses are starting to recover from the extreme heat.
Quality is average therfore we are adding additional resources to grade the tomatoes.
The SA region is still going through the impact of the past harsh weather conditions, in fact quality produced out of SA is it’s lowest standard for the season along with quantities availability. We are expecting two to three week period for recovery.
