Extremely hot conditions this week, overnight temperatures range from 25 to 30 degrees and day temperatures range from 40 to 45 degrees. These weather conditions will have drastic effects on the load bearing crops and will most likely shut the plants down.
Next 4 to 5 days we focus on cooling the fruit as quickly as possible to maintain our quality. With our pressure coolers I am confident we can maintain the temperature required to ensure the integrity of the fruit.
Quality is good given the extreme hot tempertures
Activity is at a minimum this week due to extreme weather conditions, this only allows us to work 5 to 6 hours to maintain our high quality. Quantities of field tomatoes in the short term will be very low.
